William Green, MD

Dr. Green completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Harbor UCLA in Torrance, CA in 1992.  After residency, he began 4 years of active duty with the USAF, serving as an emergency room physician at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington DC.  While in DC, Dr. Green provided tactical medical support for missions with the following agencies:

  • United States Marshalls
  • United States Secret Service
  • United States Park Police
  • Montgomery County S.W.A.T. Team
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Hostage Rescue Team

While in DC he also remained active in academic
emergency medicine, holding the following positions:

Clinical Faculty, Department of Emergency Medicine
Harbor – UCLA Medical Center (when I’d visit home)

Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine
George Washington University Medical Center

Clinical Instructor of Emergency Medicine
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences


Upon leaving the Air Force, Dr. Green became chairman of the emergency department at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg, MS. While at Wesley, he recognized the need for better and safer methods to manage digit lacerations.  He ultimately invented the T-RING digit tourniquet and the T-Strip wound closure strip; and was recently profiled in “Emergency Physician’s Monthly”. The T-RING is profiled in Trott’s “Wounds and Lacerations, Emergency Care and Closure”, the provider reference “UP to Date” and Elseviers upcoming edition of  “Emergency and Trauma Care”.
